If you don’t know what Twitter is… where have you been? Twitter is basically micro-blogging, it’s like that FaceBook “tell your friends what you’re doing” section… and that’s it. What’s the point? The point is that it is great networking - it’s like super-social media…
Right now I get a lot of traffic by posting a link to my new posts there… but it’s more than just marketing and getting traffic… you actually can make friends - you’re in constant communication with anyone you’re following. I started out following a bunch of my favorite bloggers and only about 2 real-life friends… Something cool that happened is that some of these guys followed me back and said hi - I was suddenly connected with some brilliant writers and big names in the SEO/SEM/Social Media/Blogging world. I have even met someone I initially only knew through Sphinn thanks to the magic of Twitter.
So if you are reading this and not in the Twitter club you should go sign up and follow me on Twitter.
NOTE: If you do sign up for Twitter - and use it on your mobile device - it’s very easy to drunk-Tweet… like drunk-dialing… except it might rank for your name later.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I was actually working on a future SocialDesire post about Twitter that touched on similar points. I have been very impressed with my findings with Twitter since I started using it daily about 6 weeks ago.

Some advice: when drunk tweeting on my blackberry, I find it is easier if I close one eye while trying to type.

It really helps if you follow other people…they will find out that you’re following them and then they will most likely follow you.
Find someone who has a lot of followers and follow all their followers or everyone they’re following.
